Paul Witterick had been running WittWoo Photography as a solo venture for some time before deciding to embrace the opportunities offered by Carlisle College and The Edge.

Before embarking on the Carlisle College course, Paul undertook a training needs analysis with Cumbria Business Growth Hub to better understand how he could benefit from the courses on offer and how best to proceed to build on his successes.

Taking on more than one course, Paul used the skills he had begun to perfect in class to reposition his photography company and improve how his website operates and markets itself.

He said: “I did two courses with The Edge, one in Digital Media and Marketing and one in Web Design. Digital marketing is a large part of what I do and so is web design, so it gave me a better idea of how it all combines.” Even though he was already very knowledgeable in his field, Paul’s understanding has grown and he has seen a real difference in both people’s reactions to his brand and the number of enquiries coming through for his services. “Since doing the course I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge and since I reconfigured the website I’ve noticed that I have an increase in the number of projects coming forward.”
